That Sinking Feeling

Kynaston Avenue resident Emma James was cutting the grass when her lawn gave way revealing a mysterious void in the ground.

Aylesbury Vale District Council Statement on this matter:
Having checked with the relevant departments, Aylesbury Vale District Council has no record of this issue having been reported to us by local residents. If the homeowners affected would like to ask AVDC for advice, they should feel free to contact our Building Control department on: 01296-585459 or bcontrol@aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk

We passed these contact details on to Kevin James.

Aylesbury Vale District Council Statement:
Earlier this afternoon (10 March), Kevin James contacted our Building Control department to request some advice on a hole which has appeared in his front garden in Kynaston Avenue. Our Building Control and Access Manager was able to consult records which apparently show that a shared surface water sewer was proposed to run across the front of the property at the time that it was built. Kevin may now find it worthwhile to contact Thames Water for further advice, as they are the water authority which is responsible for sewers and drainage in that particular area.

(10 March) Thames Water are now making a site visit next week.
